Pilchuck chapter of the ARS consists of Washington state Rhododendron lovers north of Seattle from Bothell to Bellingham and Whidbey Island. We are one of seven chapters in Washington. We are dedicated to the enjoyment of and education in genus Rhododendrons. We do this through hands on propagation (taking and growing cuttings, grafting, hybridizing and seed growing), garden design and management, pruning, disease management, environmental review, seminars, conventions, guest speakers, companion plants, and garden tours.
And of course eating and having some fun together!
Pilchuck holds 8 or 9 general meetings each year, September through May: the 2nd Thursday in September and January and the first Thursday of the other months. As May is the prime spring bloom season, that meeting often gets shifted to an outside activity.
See the calendar at the bottom of this page for meetings,
topics and other activities of the chapter.
We meet in the barn at Jenning's Park
6915 Armar Rd, Marysville WA.
While the main theme of Pilchuck is rhododendrons, this is not our only focus: our meetings can range from bees, birds, trees and companion plants to environmental issues, garden problems and travelogues to
hands-on-activities.
And of course we have refreshments and often a table full of
plants to be raffled off.
